Another of the entries in the mini-industry of Sex Pistols marginalia, assembled by the group’s onetime soundman, Dave Goodman. The July 1976 demos (of “Submission,” “Pretty Vacant,” and “Suburban Kid”) here are actually very good, from both fidelity and performance standpoints. Elsewhere the quality is much more variable — live songs, the famous Bill Grundy interview on British television, a “live in the studio” version of “Unlimited Supply,” the “ultra-rare mystery track” “Revolution in the Classroom,” and more. It’s really not a bad historical document; it would rate higher except for the fact that the material is haphazardly assembled and appears on other similar slapdash anthologies. And you do need a scorecard to keep such things straight by now: It’s doubtful more than a few thousand listeners (if that) could tell you exactly what here has appeared elsewhere, and where.
